Over the last 20 years Kate has worked with some of the most prominent musicians and actors with a social conscience wanting to use their platform to have global impact. During her time with PSI, YouthAIDS and Five and Alive Kate engaged Debra Messing, Mandy Moore and Ashley Judd as Ambassadors for the health issues effecting women and children.
Spanning 26 mission trips to the field, Roberts led the ambassadors through impoverished areas, schools, villages, private homes, hospitals, slum dwellings and places of worship. The objectives of the trips were both learning opportunities but also times to meet with funders and people in power to advocate for more funding and resources locally in country. On return we would arrange meetings on Capitol Hill with elected officials, law makers and even an audience with the President of The United States. Various bills have been passed and hundreds of millions of dollars secured for funding of PSI programs. Ambassadors would learn how to speak about the issues at hand, with empathy and purpose. Roberts then worked on an advocacy program for the ambassadors for key speaking opportunities and media placement stretching from The World Economic Forum in Davos to The Today Show.

"It’s very simple. Kate Roberts changed my life. Our PSI trip to Zimbabwe was soul awakening. Kate’s passion, determination and confidence is unmatched. In the car, as we trekked out to visit a village of sex workers and their children to deliver water purification crystals and female condoms, Kate turned to me and said, with no irony at all, “We are going to save the world.” I laughed. I was struck by her calm, matter-of-fact assertion. I found it charming. And then I realized, she was dead serious. She said it again to make sure I understood the journey we were on. That moment tells you everything you need to know about Kate. She is indefatigable. She is brilliant. She is relentless. When I had to testify before Congress in an effort to secure 100 million dollars for Zimbabwe, I was terrified. Kate did not coddle me. She was focused, and expected me to be as well. She was not going to be content with anything less than the 100 Million that was needed, and I knew, that Kate expected me to do my job. After it was over, I was spinning, replaying in my head every minute of the hearing. I turned to Kate and asked if I was ok. To be honest, I wanted, no I needed, her to say I was spectacular. She turned to me and said, “You were very good.” That, I learned, is high praise from Kate. Kate is a straight shooter, always looking toward the next step, and NOTHING will get in her way. Oh, and she also has a wicked sense of humor, has the most incredible stories about her travels around the world, and is the person you most want be by your side—for everything."
